A view from a walk along the north shore of Machir Bay on a beautiful June 2025 day. I dont know what it once was, but below us the ruin of an old stone building with the roof blown off, probably during one of the westerly winter storms. The Rhinns of Islay coastline with the entrance to Kilchiaran bay and the cliffs stretching out down to Lossit Bay.

A view over the beach in Lossit Bay taken by my sister Imke during our visit in June 2025. Me on the beach, looking up to my sister on the low cliffs at the southern end of the bay.
