A selfie from before it was called a “selfie” (apparently the first recorded use was in September 2002). That’s me on Kilchoman beach back in summer 1999, a bit sunburnt after a few brilliant sunny days on Islay.

Blink and you’ve missed it. Fighter jets are rather fast, only just managed to catch this one in a picture as it shot over Islay, turning over Machir Bay. This was in October (2011), considering all the Geese and Swans arriving around that time I’m not sure it’s such a good idea to practice flying low over Islay at that time?
