Following on from the view north and the view south of Balnahard beach in the north of Islay’s neighbour Colonsay I thought I’ll put the two together in a panoramic picture of the whole beach. Here’s a view from the top of the dunes behind the beach. The Isle of Mull in the distance on the left, the mainland and Jura towards the centre and right.
A view from somewhere on the Kilchoman Crags, looking out over Loch Gorm and out to Ben More on Mull in the distance. A Buzzard is circling above the loch, probably utilising the thermals on a summer day on Islay.
A very nice view from the north of Islay, from the summit of Mala Bholsa to be precise, looking over to Colonsay and Mull. The northern end of Colonsay in front on the left, behind it the Isle of Mull with Ben More (966m (3,169ft), the only island Munro outside of Skye).
