A June morning in Port Ellen, the MV Isle of Arran has just departed for the early morning crossing to Kennacraig on the Scottish mainland. Here we catch a last glimpse of her passing the small rocky islands off Port Ellen.
I think I took this picture from Creag Bhàn, the highest hill on Gigha. The view is across the Sound of Jura to the Paps of Jura with the Islay ferry MV Isle of Arran en route from Port Askaig to Kennacraig on the mainland. How tiny the ferry looks below the towering mountains.
