Gloaming in Saligo Bay June 2015, Isle of Islay

Picture of the gloaming on a coast with a mixture of beach and rocksA nice June evening in Saligo Bay on the west coast of Islay, the gloaming providing last light just after sunset. For a similar view from higher up try Gloaming at Saligo Bay from the air as I took this the same evening I flew my quadcopter over the beach.

The gloaming after a June 2015 sunset in Saligo Bay, taken from the air with a DJI Phantom 3. While the sunset itself wasn’t that great (the sun disappeared behind a bank of clouds at the horizon) the gloaming produced some decent colours and views, especially from high up in the air.

West coast evening sun, Isle of Islay

Image

Picture of a coastal landscape in the low evening sunA view south west from the cliffs between Sanaigmore and Saligo on the west coast of Islay, the low evening Sun providing some beautiful light. The view is quite far ranging: On the left the Kilchoman Crags and the crags above Machir Bay with the old radar station. Then the southern end of the Rhinns stretching out behind them. Across the sea in the far distance you can make out various parts of Ireland’s coast. Closer to us the ‘Opera House Rocks’ just right of centre.
