Two of the Paps of Jura seen from the third one, Beinn Shiantaidh (757m). Beinn a’Chaolais (733m) on the left and Beinn an Oir (785m) on the right. The Sound of Islay with Islay on the other side in the background.
While I’m not sure which country these two are from (the man on the oars is from Islay) I do know that I took this picture during the Commonwealth Fly Fishing Championship in June 2009. One of the venues was Loch Ballygrant with the Paps of Jura providing a dramatic background.
A view from Giur-bheinn taken during an Islay walking week a few years ago. The Paps of Jura only just visible in some low lying haze, mainly the summit visible above the haze.
