Saligo River runs the short distance from Loch Gorm to Saligo, where it flows across the beach in Saligo Bay into the sea. Possibly the most picturesque setting on Islay for a river to run into the sea.

Officially they are called lenticular clouds, but then again they look a bit like flying saucers, don’t they? Hence the title of UFO clouds over Ballinaby. Taken on an October afternoon on Islay from near Saligo.
