A hazy walk on the Oa in the south of Islay on a hazy Sunday in April 2019. The view from Beinn Mhòr was a bit limited, although it was still possible to make out the American Monument at the Mull of Oa and the Rhinns of Islay in the distance.

On a clear day on Islay you get great views of Kintyre and Ireland from here, as it was on the day I took this picture in April 2019 it was rather hazy and we couldn’t see much. This is Rubha nan Leacan on the Oa, the most southerly point on Islay, as far south as you can get before getting into the water (I think there are probably some strong currents around here, so probably not a good place to go swimming)

Another view of an Emperor Moth spotted in high grass on the Oa during an April walk on Islay.
