The view is quite different now, but this is how Islay’s most northern distillery looked in 2005. The wreck of the Wyre Majestic just visible in the Sound of Islay on the left.

I visited just around that time & remember the pier and superb setting very well. I take it from the wording it’s all changed a bit now?

Indeed. The houses up the hill have all been demolished. The distillery has seen a big makeover with some buildings demolished and others remodelled. @davidjbrodie (rubbish birder and distillery expert) can give you all the gory details.
PS: Forgot to mention, the wreck of the Wyre Majestic is pretty much gone now. Some tiny bits left, visible at low tide, but that’s about it.
Cheers!
Pretty much as Armin described, the boat’s all but gone,& the houses were an uneconomic repair (and 95% empty), so they’ve gone. Currently building a Bio-mass Generating Plant on that bit. Knocked down 3 knackered Warehouses & built a new Visitor Centre. Everything else as was.
