I’m not sure what exactly they were doing, but these works at Kennacraig in November 2024 were part of the upgrades in preparation for the two new Islay ferries scheduled to arrive in early 2025

A view from an Islay ferry to the mainland on a stormy November weekend during a short calmer weather window. During that window it wasn’t as wild as I had seen it at other times, but there were still quite a few people out watching the ferry leave in the choppy seas.
