A welcome view on the journey to Islay after arriving and waiting at Kennacraig: The Finlaggan entering West Loch Tarbert, signalling you’ll soon be on your way across the sea to Islay.
A slightly older picture (the causeway has been widened since) of Kennacraig on a sunny April afternoon. A West Coast Motors coach is arriving in time for the Islay ferry MV Isle of Arran (now a relief boat) coming in.
I’ve only seen it once but I believe it is a regular practice. This is the Fast Rescue Craft being lifted up after an exercise in West Loch Tarbert by the Islay ferry MV Hebridean Isles.
Update/correction: Originally I had described the boat as a tender, the correct term is Fast Rescue Craft. Thanks to Jim MacLean for the correction.
