Wind and storm gusts are quite difficult to photograph, usually you feel and hear them more than you see them. I hope this picture gives at least an idea, if you look closely you can see the ripples from the storm gust in the shallow water left behind by a retreating wave. Picture taken on Kilchoman beach in Machir Bay on the west coast of Islay during a late November 2025 storm.

Arriving at the Singing Sands near Port Ellen on a November early afternoon, the Sun briefly breaking through on a mostly cloudy day. If you look closely you can also make out Ireland on the horizon across the North Channel.

A panoramic view in late November 2025 from the dune path leading to the beach in Saligo Bay on the west coast of Islay. Waves rolling in from the Atlantic. I quite like the photogenic band of clouds in the distance while there are blue skies above us. The low but still bright afternoon sun on the left providing some beautiful light.
