A memory from the Islay walking week in 2005 and an excursion to Jura on a beautiful sunny April day. We walked across Jura from east to west, this view is from near our destination, Loch Tarbert. One of the Paps of Jura (I think Beinn Shiantaidh) just visible in the distance on the left. Loch Tarbert on the right, just appearing behind the hills.

A view north from Bruichladdich pier, over to the northern end of Bruichladdich (Loch Gorm House on the left) and the south western end of Uiskentuie beach. The road to Kilchoman on the western side of the Rhinns of Islay in the gap just left of centre.

Paddle Steamer Waverley on Loch Long (from a journey to Islay)

While I haven’t seen the PS Waverley on Islay yet (she visits every once in a while) I have seen her in Glasgow and as in this picture on Loch Long. I had picked up my sister at the airport in Glasgow and we were on our way to Kennacraig for the ferry to Islay. Driving around the top of Loch Long I spotted the Waverley and told my sister to grab my camera. I caught up with the Waverley at the open stretch just before the road turns off to Glen Croe at Ardgartan and my sister managed to get a few shots including this one. Also note the nice wooden yacht anchored in the background.
