Wind and storm gusts are quite difficult to photograph, usually you feel and hear them more than you see them. I hope this picture gives at least an idea, if you look closely you can see the ripples from the storm gust in the shallow water left behind by a retreating wave. Picture taken on Kilchoman beach in Machir Bay on the west coast of Islay during a late November 2025 storm.

Arriving at the Singing Sands near Port Ellen on a November early afternoon, the Sun briefly breaking through on a mostly cloudy day. If you look closely you can also make out Ireland on the horizon across the North Channel.
