Colourful April gloaming from the Saligo dunes, Isle of Islay

The sunset wasn’t the most exciting, but the gloaming after it turned out rather nice. Above the Saligo dunes some dark blue sky, out on the horizon over the Atlantic the distant clouds turned into a dramatic fire of reds and oranges. It didn’t last long, but looked amazing while it lasted.

A view down Rhu Road in Port Charlotte on the shore of Loch Indaal on a nice April morning. I believe the cut on the right is called Port na Ceasach (at least that’s what I take from the OS map). Laggan Point on the other side of the loch.

Spotted from the evening ferry arriving in Port Ellen: The tall ship Thalassa, a regular visitor to Islay, anchored in Kilnaughton Bay just as the sun is setting behind the hills of the Oa.
