An Islay view that’s going to change a bit over the coming years: While the Barnacle Geese are likely to still feed in the field at times the Machrie Hotel in the distance will undergo significant changes and renovations. The chalets to the left I understand will be demolished once the work is complete (for now I hear they serve as accommodation for the builders while the project is in progress). From the main hotel building I believe only the front facade will remain and a completely new hotel will be developed behind it. Work on the golf course which was started a while ago is nearing completion now. Picture taken from somewhere on the High Road.
