Light and Dark Paps of Jura from Bowmore, Isle of Islay

A view from Bowmore over a calm Loch Indaal on Islay to the three Paps of Jura. One of them, Beinn a’ Chaolais, in the shade of a cloud, the other two in some nice mild sunshine. If you look closely you can also spot the John Francis Campbell monument just in front of Beinn a’ Chaolais.

A view from Beinn an Oir on a sunny but hazy June day. The summit of Beinn a’ Chaolais, the lowest of the three Paps Of Jura. Behind it the Sound of Islay with Islay itself stretching out into the distance, the Oa towards the left.

A panoramic view looking north up the Sound of Islay from below McArthur’s Head lighthouse at the southern end of the sound. Jura visible on the other side of the sound with one of the Paps of Jura (I think Beinn a’Chaolais) in the distance.
