Standing on the shore on the Rhinns of Islay near Port Charlotte is the Loch Indaal lighthouse. In this aerial view the loch stretches out in the distance into the centre of Islay, Bowmore just visible across the water.
Having sailed around the Rhinns of Islay, passing the Frenchman’s Rocks and the lighthouse, the Flying Dutchman arrived in Bruichladdich on a beautiful June evening. Bowmore also visible in the distance on the left.
In early July 2015 the Scottish Ambulance Service sent their new next generation air ambulance helicopter on a tour around the Scottish islands. On 3/Jul/2015 it visited Bowmore, here it is taking off from the school playing fields.
