Turbulent tidal waters between Scarba and Lunga (Corryvreckan trip, excursion from Islay)

I must admit I’m not 100% certain what exactly this picture shows. However, I think that’s Scarba in the background (if not then it’s Lunga) and Eilean a’ Bhealaich on the left. It’s kind of the smaller twin sibling to the Corryvreckan, the narrow channel between Scarba and Lunga. Some amazing tidal action you can get to see on a tour with Venture West to the Corryvreckan Whirlpool between Jura and Scarba

The Venture West tour to the Corryvreckan Whirlpool takes you to a secondary fascinating sight which I hadn’t known about until this trip. Between Lunga and Scarba at Bealach a’ Choin Ghlais the tide has not much space to run through, especially running past Eilean a’ Bhealaich. You can see the height difference between the high tide and the low tide, especially on the right of the picture. A fascinating sight, definitely worth the visit.
