Back in 1991 the Russian factory fishing ship Kartli shipwrecked near Gigha with the loss of four lives.25 years later this memorial cairn was erected on Cnoc an Eireachdais near Tarbert Farm. The plaque is bilingual in English and Russian, the compass of the Kartli is embedded on the top.
