One of the clearest views I’ve experienced across the North Channel from Islay to Ireland. Depending on how you measure it this is somewhere around 25 miles / 40 kilometres. The view is from the Mull of Oa on Islay across the North Channel. In the foreground you can spot Rathlin, behind it Ireland.

Probably one of the best views you can get on Islay on a clear day, the view over the dramatic cliffs of the Oa with the American Monument, Kintyre in the background. Then the wide North Channel with Ireland just visible in the distance.

A view of Port Charlotte on the Rhinns of Islay on a moonlit November evening, seen from near the Rhinns Medical Centre. The Oa just visible on the left, if you look very closely you can just make out Ireland in the far distance across the North Channel.
