Probably one of my favourite pictures ever. A few years ago my sister Imke joined me on another Islay holiday (her third) and we went on a number of walks. One took us over to Jura, where we walked from Jura House Gardens back to the ferry. During the walk we found a broken toy tricycle. Imke got on to the tricycle, pretending to ride it, and I took a few pictures. This is one of them.
“No, you stay there and let me eat my scone in peace!” The birds at the tea tent at Jura House Gardens (when it was still open, unfortunately it’s closed now, possibly for ever) were quite fearless and were all over your scones if you weren’t careful.
