Probably the most famous house on Jura, Barnhill, where George Orwell wrote his famous book 1984. Here seen from the water during a boat trip to the Corryvreckan (where Orwell and his son got into serious trouble once).

On a spur of the moment decision I climbed Corra Bheinn (573m) while my original plan had been to just complete Evans’ Walk to Loch Tarbert (which I still did). It was well worth it. The views of in particular Beinn Shiantaidh (757m) were fantastic on a brilliant June afternoon. In this view I also quite liked the two large boulders which at some point must have come down the hill before coming to rest here.

A popular destination on Jura (also for day trips from Islay) are the Corran Sands. Right above the beach is a path, where I noticed this couple cycling past while I was walking on the beach. In the background the Paps of Jura (admittedly one is mostly hidden by the clouds).
