Sometimes you don’t have to venture far to see wildlife on Islay. For this one I only had to step out of the door of the holiday cottage. I had noticed a Stoat running along a wall twice, but hadn’t a camera to hand in time. Then one afternoon I noticed it running past the glass door. Grabbed a camera and opened the door. Spotted it in the “garden” of the neighbouring cottage and managed to take a few pictures

Another view over Kilchoman beach from the dunes/hills to the north of Machir Bay, here just looking at the beach with the Kilchoman crags in the background. The tiny dots on the beach are people, it was quite busy this sunny June afternoon

A panoramic view south from the high dunes to the north of Kilchoman beach and Machir Bay. In the distance the Kilchoman Crags with the old Radar station stretching out over to Kilchiaran.
