A calm July day on the south coast of Islay, at Kilnaughton Bay near Port Ellen. The sea is calmly lapping on the rocks, sands and stones along the shore.

One of the most popular beaches on Islay, in particular with families, the beach in Kilnaughton Bay. Looking over to Port Ellen you can see the ferries come and go (or being berthed at the pier) as well as various other marine traffic. Also good views to Carraig Fhada lighthouse and on a clear day Kintyre (both not in the panorama though)

A view of the north eastern end of Kilnaughton beach, Port Ellen visible in the distance on the right across Kilnaughton Bay. Between the rocks the remains of the old hut, to my knowledge it was an old changing hut for bathers.
