Fairly small but very beautiful, the beach near Port na Gallochoille on Islay’s neighbour Gigha. The view is north east over the Sound of Gigha with the Kintyre mainland in the distance.
A view back from an April afternoon crossing to Islay on the MV Finlaggan. Despite the overcast skies the long distance visibility was very good, allowing a nice view of the hills of the Isle of Arran towering over the lower landscape of the Kintyre peninsula.
Spotted from a walk on the Northern Loop on the Isle of Gigha, the MV Lord of the Isles coming out of West Loch Tarbert on her way to Islay. The MV Lord of the Isles served as relief Islay ferry in June 2023 while the regular ferries were away for their annual maintenance.
