A view from somewhere between Port Charlotte and Portnahaven on the Rhinns of Islay, looking across Loch Indaal to the Mull of Oa. If you look closely you can just make out the American Monument. It was a breezy June day a number of years back, plenty of white horses on the loch.

Possibly one of the best mornings I’ve experienced on Islay. For some reason I can’t remember I was awake at stupid o’clock in the morning during a June visit to Islay, staying in Port Charlotte. I noticed some wonderful light and decided to head out with my camera. Got some wonderful views of Port Charlotte and the Loch Indaal lighthouse in the beautiful dawn light, this one looking back to Port Charlotte while walking over to the lighthouse.
