Returning from a walk in the north of Islay a group of walkers is approaching Bunnahabhain. The Sound of Islay with the wreck of the Wyre Majestic and McArthur’s Head in the distance on the left.
A view up to McArthur’s Head lighthouse from the shore below. On the left the old pier which used to be used to provide supplies when the lighthouse was still manned. The only way to reach the lighthouse is either by boat or a long walk across rough country.
A view from the Jura side of the Sound of Islay, as a small cruise ship is entering the sound from the South. McArthur’s Head with the lighthouse on the other side of the sound, the shoreline with Proaig towards Ardtalla in the background.
