Picture of a man standing on a beach, neighbouring islands in the backgroundA rare picture of me on Islay (as usually I’m behind the camera), courtesy of my sister Imke. This was on Traigh Baile Aonghais a few years ago, when we walked from Killinallan Gate to Mala Bholsa. And back. In the background are Oronsay and Colonsay, with the silhouette of Ben More on Mull in the far distance

Image

Picture of rock formations including a natural arch at a shorelineThe coast around Mala Bholsa in the north of Islay has some amazing landscapes with all kinds of rock formations. This is one of the many natural arches in the area, behind it some interesting rocks rising out of the sea. In the background Colonsay and Mull with Ben More can be seen in the distance.
