Port Askaig on an evening in 2004, Isle of Islay

Picture of a small village and ferry terminal with construction work going onA lot has changed in this view since this picture was taken in 2004. The project to completely reshape the whole waiting area had only just begun, huge amounts of rocks and earth were still going to be excavated behind the red and white barrier. Probably the biggest construction project on Islay ever.

On the morning ferry from Islay to Jura

Image

Picture of a red Mini Clubman on a small ferry across a sound between two islandsA picture from the day I climbed two of the Paps of Jura a few years ago. I took the first ferry in the morning from Islay to Jura to have as much time as possible. While it was a bit cloudy at first it did clear up nicely later in the day for some great views. My destination can be seen just left of centre in the distance.
