A view from the Loch Indaal Way coastal path on the Rhinns of Islay: Loch Indaal lighthouse right in front of us. On the left the Mull of Oa with the American Monument. And in the distance Ireland. Of course not all of it, just a tiny part of it. But still.

A beautiful November dusk seen from the Rhinns of Islay. On the right the Loch Indaal lighthouse near Port Charlotte, to the left the Mull of Oa with the American Monument. If you look closely you can just make out a shadow of Ireland in the far distance across the North Channel.

Another view from the departing plane taken by my late mother at the end of her last visit to Islay. The view goes along the Big Strand in Laggan Bay out towards the Oa penisula. The North Channel behind it, Ireland somewhere in the far distance under the clouds.
