The Paps of Jura in the April haze (from the Islay ferry)

There are days when the views can be a bit limited. Like on this ferry crossing to Islay in April 2019. A very hazy day, the Paps of Jura were only just visible as an outline through the haze after leaving West Loch Tarbert.

No idea what kind of rocks these are, but I found them quite interesting, some nice shapes and waves in them. Found on a beach on the west side of Loch Gruinart at Ardnave. Mala Bholsa visible in the distance in the centre, one of the Paps of Jura towards the right.

A different view of Loch Gruinart at Ardnave, not from the top of the dunes, not from the beach either, but from somewhere half way, from a gap in the dunes. It’s low tide in the loch with sandbanks visible almost all the way. Killinallan Point visible across the loch, also the tops of the Paps of Jura on the horizon.
