The Paps of Jura from Loch an t-Siob, Isle of Jura

Image

Picture of three mountains towering over a lochA view of the three Paps of Jura from just south east of Loch an t-Siob. From left to right they are Beinn a’Chaolais (733m), Beinn an Oir (785m) and Beinn Shiantaidh (757m). On the right the stepping stones across the Corran River with the path leading on to the Paps.

Picture of a group of walkers on a low hill, two high hills behind themA picture from an Islay walking week excursion to the Isle of Jura. This is near Cnocbreac, two of the Paps of Jura in the haze in the background. Beinn a’Chaolais (733m) on the right, Beinn an Oir (785m, the highest of the Paps) on the left. A tiny glimpse of Beinn Shiantaidh (757m) between them if you look closely.

The Paps of Jura from Keills, Isle of Islay

Image

Picture of a view down a road through a village, beautiful mountains in the distanceA view along the A846 through the village of Keills, it looks like it leads straight to the Paps of Jura. Of course there’s the minor obstacle of the Sound of Islay in the way (Port Askaig is just behind the trees in the distance), but I still like the thought.
