The open fire was going in the cottage (note the smoke coming out of the chimney), lit by the walk leader Donald James MacPhee earlier that morning.

Obsession in Port Askaig, Isle of Islay I don’t know if the Obsession is a local Islay boat or if she was visiting (if you know please leave a note in the comments), but I quite like the name. Also note the RNLI lifeboat in the background.
