Cliffs north of Lossit Bay, Isle of Islay

Picture of steep cliffs with a bay in the distance

A view south along the coast just north of Lossit Bay on the west coast of Islay. I’m not 100% sure, but I think this is from near Dun Bhoraraig, Rubha na Faoileige on the right. Lossit Bay is behind the hills on the left. If you look closely you can just make out the Rhinns of Islay lighthouse in the distance on the left. Also Frenchman’s Rocks in the distance in the centre.

Bay of Small Isles, Isle of Jura

An impression from a beautiful summer afternoon on Islay’s neighbour Jura. This is the Bay of Small Isles on the east coast of Jura. Jura’s main settlement Craighouse with the distillery on the right. One of the small isles the name comes from on the left, Eilean nan Gabhar.

Waves and Oystercatchers in Loch Indaal, Isle of Islay

Picture of waves running on to a pebble shore, also 4 Oystercatchers

A frequent bird on Islay with its noisy call, the Oystercatcher. Here four of them fly up across some small waves running up the shore in Loch Indaal.
