A picture taken by my sister Imke, who had just arrived on this ferry. That’s me watching (and filming) the MV Finlaggan departing from Port Askaig on the Sound of Islay for another crossing to Kennacraig.
Seen from near the northern end of the Big Strand, a view across Laggan Bay to the Mull of Oa with the American Monument. After some earlier rain the clouds were lifting, giving a nice view of the cliffs with the monument on top.
While out on a long walk on the Big Strand I was lucky enough to arrive at Islay International Airport just at the moment the service plane from Glasgow arrived. Here it is approaching over the Big Strand to land at the runway to the right.
