Originally I had come to the top of Loch Indaal to watch geese coming in for the roost. They did come in, although not as good and photogenic as I had hoped. While it was cloudy the vast majority of the time the sun did make a few brief appearances. Here a bright spot appeared in the clouds above Bowmore distillery, reflecting on Loch Indaal

A view from a ferry at Port Ellen pier, looking over the water to some key Islay whisky sites. In the front some of the old warehouses from the original Port Ellen distillery, at some point shut down. Behind it to the right the industrial Port Ellen maltings and to the left the rebuilt and reopened distillery with lots of glass and other modern features.

A view from the crags over Kilchoman, from left to right: Shepherd’s Cottage, Kilchoman Church (sadly a ruin now), Kilchoman Cottages and Kilchoman House. In the middle distance on the right you can also just make out Rockside farm with Kilchoman distillery. In the distance Loch Gorm and Carnduncan.
