The Crinan canal is always a nice stop on a journey to Islay, especially if there’s enough time to go all the way to Crinan. Here’s a nice old wooden boat moored off Crinan on a July late afternoon. I’m not entirely sure, but I think those are Jura (on the left) and Scarba (on the right) in the distance, with the Gulf of Corryvreckan in between.

A view of Saligo Bay on the west coast of Islay with Saligo River running into the Atlantic from the right. Only a little bit of sand is visible as it is high tide.
