While there were quite a few clouds around they also broke up at times for a bright night sky with many stars. The almost full moon provided some light on the ruin of Kilchoman church and made for a bright sky.

Picture of the Kildalton Cross, a Celtic cross on IslayThe Kildalton Cross is probably the best know and best preserved Celtic cross on Islay. It can be found in the south east of the island next to the ruin of Kildalton Chapel.
