Not the clearest picture, but I love the light in this view. I took it with one of my first digital cameras many years ago, which is of course no match to today’s models. This was from the evening ferry to Islay, if memory serves me right on a wonderful April evening. Laphroaig distillery in the evening light, and yes, I’m enjoying a wee dram while writing this.

Not all ferry crossings to Islay are sunny, some are rather cloudy and hazy like the one where I took this picture. The view is from the ferry to the shore near Port Ellen.

A Trent class RNLI lifeboat cruising in the Sound of Jura spotted from the Islay ferry by my sister Imke. This is the Earl and Countess Mountbatten of Burma, as of writing this a relief boat.
