Always a fascinating sight, a Hen Harrier on Islay. This one I watched at Gruinart on the hunt. It tried to get to some pheasant chicks, but their mother wasn’t having any of it and fought off the Hen Harrier (unfortunately I didn’t get any pictures of that brief fight).

Watched from the old/south hide at Gruinart, four of the many Whooper Swans passing through Islay in the autumn flying past.
