Another view from the departing plane taken by my late mother at the end of her last visit to Islay. The view goes along the Big Strand in Laggan Bay out towards the Oa penisula. The North Channel behind it, Ireland somewhere in the far distance under the clouds.

A mostly cloudy June morning on the Rhinns of Islay, somewhere south of Port Charlotte. The view is out over Loch Indaal to the Mull of Oa with the American Monument. The Irish coast visible in the distance across the North Channel.

A different view of the famous Loch Indaal lighthouse near Port Charlotte, seen here from Conisby above Bruichladdich on the Rhinns of Islay. And if you look closely you can just make out Ireland in the far distance across the North Channel.
