Returning from a walk to MacArthur’s Head the drive back takes you past Kintour, a good spot to see a few Deer right next to the road. Like this impressive one standing proud in the sunshine.

Not a lot seems to be known about the abandoned settlement of Creagfinn at the Kintour River in the south east of Islay. Only the ruins of a few buildings and enclosures remain, overgrown with grass and moss, also a few trees growing in the ruins. Picture taken during a visit with the Islay walking week in April 2015.
