Jura and Islay silhouettes from Colonsay

Image

Panoramic picture of a view out to sea from an island on a bright sunny day, the silhouettes of other islands in the haze on the horizonA view from Colonsay out to sea on a beautiful bright sunny summer day. Jura (just right of centre) and Islay (on the right) can be seen in the haze on the horizon. I’m not entirely sure from where I took this picture, I think somewhere in the Glas Aird area with Scalasaig just visible on the right.

Picture of a view from a hill over woodland and a sound between two islandsA view north east from Cnoc nan Seabhag, looking over the woods at Staoisha, across the Sound of Islay to the Paps of Jura. Bunnahabhain is hidden behind the trees.

Port Askaig and Caol Ila, Isle of Islay (seen from Jura)

Image

Picture of two settlements at a sound between two islands, seen from a mountainA follow up to the Port Askaig, Keills and Bowmore seen from Jura picture I posted recently. There someone asked where Caol Ila was. This view from the summit of Beinn an Oir, the highest of the Paps of Jura at 785m, shows both Port Askaig and Caol Ila at the Sound of Islay with Keills further back inland. I’m not entirely sure what the loch on the top left is, but I think it’s Loch nan Cadhan.
