Plane over Colonsay Golf Course

Image

Picture of a small place flying over a golf courseProbably a sight you don’t get on many golf courses. This is the golf course on Islay’s neighbour Colonsay, which is right next to the island’s airfield. A small plane is coming in to land on the landing strip just to the left of the picture. I wonder if the golfers have to stop play when a plane is approaching or leaving to ensure they don’t accidentally hit it with a golf ball?

Plane at Islay International Airport

Picture of a passenger plane at a small local airportOK, I admit, the title is a bit of an exaggeration. The only scheduled flights from Islay’s small airport are to Glasgow, Colonsay and Oban (via Colonsay). However, I’m quite sure that there have been flights arriving from abroad, England, Ireland, Wales and other places, so the International isn’t that far fetched.
