Walking on the west coast of Islay

The beach below is Tràigh Bhàn, just above it you’ll find one of the memorials for the Exmouth disaster. Picture courtesy of my sister Imke, taken during one of our Islay walks in June 2013.

A view from a beautiful June evening on Islay, returning to Kilchoman from Sanaigmore. On the way I stopped above Loch Gorm for this beautiful view of the loch in the gloaming, the last light of the day.

Walking into Saligo Bay, Isle of Islay

Arriving at Saligo Bay on the west coast of Islay is a nice experience, with the view slowly opening up as you walk down the path through the dunes on to the beach. This view is about half way down the dunes, looking on to the beach and the cliffs in the south west. This was taken on a slightly cloudy but colourful October evening with sunset approaching soon.
