An impression from Sanaigmore Bay, some of the rocks breaking up the otherwise sandy beach.

Walkers in wide open space, Isle of Islay
Image
A view from a walk between Ardnave and Sanaigmore a few years ago. This was an Islay walking week walk taking us around Ardnave Point and then along the coast and wide open spaces to Sanaigmore. This was nearer Sanaigmore, where the views very much opened up at times. The hills east of Loch Gruinart and behind them the Paps of Jura in the distance behind the walkers.
Coast seen from Mala Bholsa, Isle of Islay
Image
A view southwest from the top of Mala Bholsa (127m) in the north of Islay. An amazing coastline with raised beaches, cliffs, beaches, natural arches, caves and more. In the distance Loch Gruinart can just be seen cutting deep into Islay. On the right Ardnave Point with Nave Island off it. In the far distance the hills at Sanaigmore can be seen. Just below some of the deers living in this remote part of Islay.
