Fast Rescue Craft exercise on the Islay ferry MV Hebridean Isles

Image

Picture of a ferry tender hanging on a craneI’ve only seen it once but I believe it is a regular practice. This is the Fast Rescue Craft being lifted up after an exercise in West Loch Tarbert by the Islay ferry MV Hebridean Isles.

Update/correction: Originally I had described the boat as a tender, the correct term is Fast Rescue Craft. Thanks to Jim MacLean for the correction.

The new road, car park and waiting area had been finished at this time in 2005, but the new Jura ferry and small boat harbour pier as well as the new ferry terminal building were still to come.
