An October afternoon at the south east coast of Islay. We’re looking across Loch Laphroaig (Laphroaig distillery is behind us to the right) along the shore towards Port Ellen (not visible). The hills of the Oa in the distance on the horizon.
A memory from back in 2003, when there was scaffolding around Carraig Fhada lighthouse. I assume it was for painting and maybe other repairs. A Calmac ferry in the distance, I believe the MV Hebridean Isles.
One of the most popular beaches on Islay, in particular with families, the beach in Kilnaughton Bay. Looking over to Port Ellen you can see the ferries come and go (or being berthed at the pier) as well as various other marine traffic. Also good views to Carraig Fhada lighthouse and on a clear day Kintyre (both not in the panorama though)
