A late November visit to the Singing Sands near Port Ellen on a clear day despite it being mostly cloudy. When you look closely you will notice Kintyre with the Mull of Kintyre on the left and more importantly Ireland, about 25ish miles away across the North Channel, in the distance on the right.

A hazy and overcast April afternoon on Islay, a view out to sea from the Singing Sands on the Oa. Kintyre not visible in the distance, as it’s hidden by the haze.

A memory from my late mother’s first visit to Islay bck in 2003. One of the many places I took her to were the Singing Sands near Port Ellen. Unfortunately it was a rather cloudy and later rainy day, I remember we only just made it back to the car before the heavens opened for deluge of rain.

Picture of course taken by my mother.
